[make]new started in 2012 at the UC Berkeley campus as a creative arts focused fellowship with five guys: a professional animator, a graphic designer, a film school student, a tech-guy extraordinaire, and a bum (who was the writer).

[make]new Durham was founded by that bum in 2017.
Since then, we’ve evolved into a full on church with a particular focus on college ministry (over 90% of our congregation consists of Duke students). We haven’t forgotten our arts roots, but a lot of our time is now spent in normal1 church activities.
